Reins
Our rope reins have many advantages. They are soft and comfortable to hold in your hands, especially for the those long rides.
They won’t lose their grip or stretch when they become wet, either from water, rain or sweat.
Rope reins are easy maintenance, simply rinse in cold water and hang to dry after your ride or wash in mild detergent for that
extra clean.
For riders who prefer not to use any hardware, we have the option of slobber straps or loops.
Yachting Rope Reins
The yachting rope reins are constructed from high quality double braided polyester yachting rope. They are 3m in length and come with high quality stainless steel trigger clips at either end for easy attachment to the headstall or bit of your choice. Reins in 12mm or 14mm rope have the option of either high quality leather slobber straps or clips. The yachting rope split reins are constructed from high quality double braided polyester yachting rope. They are 2m in length and come with high quality leather poppers on each end. All rope sizes available can be fitted with stainless steel trigger clips for easy attachment to the headstall or bit of your choice. Split reins in 12mm or 14mm rope have the option of high quality leather slobber straps or clips. Split reins in 8mm or 10mm have the option of loops or clips. The flat reins are constructed from single braided polyester yachting rope. Each end of the rein is stitched properly to avoid unravelling. They come standard as 2m long split reins or 3m long joined (continuous) reins. Both styles are fitted with high quality stainless steel trigger clips for easy attachment to the bridle or headstall of your choice. The split reins have high quality leather poppers fitted to the ends and also have the option of loops instead of clips. These reins are soft and sit flat in your hands making them suitable for all riding disciplines. Currently available in Black, Blue and now also in Purple. More colours coming soon. Enduro Reins
The enduro reins are constructed from 8mm or 10mm high quality double braided polyester yachting rope. They are split reins, 2m in length with both reins connected to one high quality stainless steel trigger clip. The end of each rein is finished with a high quality leather popper. These reins are ideal for endurance riders or any rider who prefers to ride in a headstall with reins attached to the lead rope loop under the chin. When you dismount and lead your horse, one rein conveniently becomes your lead rope.Mecate Reins
The Mecate Rein is constructed from 12mm or 14mm double braided polyester yachting rope. The rein consists of a continuous 22ft (6.7m) length of rope with a tassle on one end and a high quality leather popper on the other end. When attached correctly to either the hackamore or your own bridle, it creates 3m reins and a 12ft (3.6m) lead rope coming from the near side of the horse. This allows the trainer the convenience of being able to do ground work and ride at any time without having to make changes or adjustments. The Slobber Straps are made from high quality leather and come in Black, Whiskey, Natural and Chocolate. Slobber Straps come in two sizes to suit either the 12mm or 14mm yachting rope.
