Knotted Headstall

The knotted rope headstall is our premier flagship product at Nungar Knots. The headstall is constructed from double braided polyester yachting rope and comes in both 6mm and 8mm diameter rope. Only the highest quality yachting rope is selected to make the headstall and strict manufacturing guidelines are adhered to by our craftsmen. All headstalls are designed with a loop below the jaw for easy attachment of a lead rope or reins of your choice. Creating this loop is the all important fiador knot which is mechanically tightened on all genuine Nungar Knots headstalls. This tightening process greatly reduces the risk of the fiador knot becoming loose. Rope headstalls are light weight but very strong. Nungar Knots unique placement of the nose knots and the softness of the rope allows excellent communication between the trainer and the horse.

Spliced Headstall

The spliced headstall is constructed from 6mm double braided polyester yachting rope made to the same proportions as the knotted headstall. The entire headstall (with the exception of the fiador knot) is spliced together rather than knotted to give a rather stylish look. As with all Nungar Knots headstalls, the fiador knot is mechanically tightened to reduce the risk of it loosening. The spliced headstall is available in the full Nungar Knots colour range. This headstall is made to the same proportions as the yachting rope headstall with the fiador knot (under the chin) mechanically tightened to reduce the chance of it loosening.
